Have Your Cake and Advertise It Too: Rewards for Repeat Billboard Ads
One day on a billboard is a start. Seeing you again is what sticks. Business ads now earn 10% back as Cake, so your next ad costs less.

On FameCake you can buy a single day on a billboard. One day, one screen, no agency, no minimum spend. We are quite proud of that.
Here's the bit we should say out loud: one day is a taste. What works is the second slice, and the third.
Why once is rarely enough
People don't remember an ad because they saw it once. They remember it because they keep seeing it. The bus stop on the way to work. The screen by the car park. Same name, same face, again on Thursday.
The industry has a grand word for this: frequency. It means people see your ad more than once. A big brand books weeks of billboards for exactly this reason. Recall builds each time someone sees you again.
The old way to get frequency was to commit up front: a month, a contract, a budget you had to defend before anyone saw a thing. We'd rather you try a day, see how it feels, and come back.
So now we make coming back cheaper.
Get another slice: 10% back as Cake
"Cake" is slang for money, as in "getting that cake", and it is half our name, so it was the obvious choice. Cake is FameCake account credit. It sits in your account, and it pays first when you check out. Your card pays the rest.
Here's how business ads earn it:
- One-off ads. When your ad finishes airing, we add 10% of what you paid by card as Cake. Pay £100 by card, get £10 of Cake.
- Plans. Each period of a billboard plan earns 10% of what you paid by card for it. We add it just before the next renewal, so it comes straight off that renewal.
- Cake doesn't earn Cake. If you paid part of an ad with Cake, only the card part earns. We like you, but we're not running a pyramid of sponge.
Post-again Cake lasts 90 days. That's long enough to plan your next run, and short enough to nudge you to do it.
- 10% of the card payment back
- Added when the ad finishes airing
- Lasts 90 days
- 10% of each period's card payment
- Added just before the next renewal
- Comes off that renewal
Where you can spend it
Cake works on any billboard, including ones you've never used. It also pays plan renewals and proposals. Ran a Friday by the station? Spend your Cake on a weekend by the shopping centre.
At checkout, Cake pays first and your card pays the rest.
The icing on top: refer a friend
The 10% back is for business ads. The refer-a-friend bonus is for everyone who has paid for an ad, business or personal. It's also the most generous thing we do.
- Your friend gets £20 off an ad of £50 or more.
- You get £20 of Cake on the day their ad first plays.
- No minimum spend on your side, and it stacks. Five friends make £100 of Cake.
- Each £20 lasts 12 months.
So a business that comes back every month and tells the café next door can earn on both. Your link is on the Give £20, Get £20 page, and the full story is in our refer-a-friend guide.
The small print
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Who earns 10% back | Business ads, on what you paid by card |
| When it arrives | When a one-off ad finishes airing, or just before a plan renews |
| How long it lasts | 90 days from the day it arrives |
| What doesn't earn | The part of an ad you paid with Cake |
| Refunds | If you get a refund, the unspent Cake that ad earned goes back with it |
| Where Cake works | Any billboard, plan renewals and proposals. Cake pays first, your card pays the rest |
| Refer a friend | Anyone who has paid for an ad. £20 of Cake per friend, lasts 12 months |
Why we do it this way
We would rather spend money on people who already like what we do than on another round of ads to strangers. A customer who comes back is worth more to us than a click.
And we're not pretending 10% will change your life. It's a slice of cake. It won't change your life, but it makes the second week cheaper than the first, and coming back is how frequency builds.
Your piece of the cake
- Run a business ad. Find a billboard near you and pick your days.
- Let it finish. Your Cake lands in your account, and we email you to say so.
- Come back for another slice. Pick your next billboard. Your Cake comes off first.
Then send your link to someone who belongs on a billboard. That's the icing.
